# Clear cache / cookies

When you use a browser, like Chrome, it saves some information from websites in its cache and cookies. Clearing them fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites.

## In Chrome

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click More ![More](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/oLoRPrHJd7m46sWijX6zBWnEnfslP62AxJSwt5Nj0bNbpaYHz2pyscExleiofsH2kQ=h36).
3. Click **More tools** ![and then](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/QbWcYKta5vh_4-OgUeFmK-JOB0YgLLoGh69P478nE6mKdfpWQniiBabjF7FVoCVXI0g=h36) **Clear browsing data**.
4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select **All time**.
5. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes for the ones you want cleared.
6. Click **Clear data**.

If you use Safari, Firefox, or another browser, check its support site for instructions.

## What happens after you clear this info

After you clear cache and cookies:

- Some settings on sites get deleted. For example, if you were signed in, you’ll need to sign in again.
- If you [turn sync on in Chrome](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/185277), you’ll stay signed into the Google Account you’re syncing to in order to delete your data across all your devices.
- Some sites can seem slower because content, like images, needs to load again.

## How cache &amp; cookies work

- Cookies are files created by sites you visit. They make your online experience easier by saving browsing data.
- The cache remembers parts of pages, like images, to help them open faster during your next visit.

# Turn off Site Notifications / Banners

You might see unexpected notifications pop up on your computer when you enable site notifications from your web browser. These can pose as random scam or product deal notifications that are meant to tempt you to click on them. # Stop Chrome from Saving Passwords

Steps to stop Chrome from saving passwords.

1. Click on Menu ellipses.
2. Click on Autofill and passwords.
3. Click on Google Password Manager new window.

Make sure all three of these switches are off. This will disable the Google Password Manager.

# Delete All Saved Passwords in Chrome

Steps to delete all saved passwords in Chrome

1. Click on Menu ellipses.
2. Click on Privacy and security
3. Click on Clear browsing data.

1. Click on Advanced
2. Set Time Range to All Time
3. Uncheck all boxes except Passwords.
4. Click on Clear Data

This will delete all passwords stored in Chrome.
